Bad Dog Darla
Bad Dog Darla was created out of a love I have for Children’s books and our own Dog named Darla. Together they became a platform to gain awareness for the importance of early literacy and animal rights.
Meet Darla
Darla was rescued from a shelter 11 years ago. She is lovable and friendly. She is also full of mischief (Hence the title, Bad Dog Darla!)
Cozy
We often joke that Darla originated from the tropics. She hates the cold and can be found next to a fireplace or heat source at all times.
Where's the Fam?
Darla is happiest when all the family is together. She wants to be right by our side at all times.
Bad Dog Darla Has a Dual Mission
The idea for Bad Dog Darla came from my experience as a mother, educator, and animal lover. She was born out of a desire to create books that kids could engage with and love. Using rhythmic structure helps early readers to anticipate the rhyming word. They can then make predictions when they read, which is an important literacy development skill.
